Featuring BLEAKROSES, LISA LISA SIMPSON, MISTY VALES + MORE
Bleakroses is a femme, non-binary, indigenous writer, promoter, curator and DJ. They are the co-curator of Feelsworldwide, a multi-sensory queer dance party and performance night at the intersection of art and emotion.
LISA LISA SIMPSON:
Lisa Lisa Simpson aka Jared Maire is a first-generation, Indonesian, queer, feminist who exists in this doomed realm as a dj and graphic designer. Currently burnt out, their former existence was that of an organizer and curator with the Revolting Queers and DIY nightlife staple Madame of the Arts (RIP). Their influences range from the female fronted post-punk bands of the late 70’s and early 80’s, the queer history of disco and house, an immigrant mother, and their crippling borderline personality disorder. Jared misses the Downtown YMCA steam room and thinks Minneapolis needs a queer bar that serves Bahn mi asap.
Patrick AKA Misty Vales took inspiration for his DJ name from a bizarre lost special on VHS. Digging in places like NYC, Chicago, and Minneapolis he constantly strives to find that lost brilliance of the likes of Ron Hardy, Juan Atkins and Larry Levan.
