This artist-organizer was born and raised in North Minneapolis, she holds a BA in Public Affairs from Wells College in Aurora, NY. PH's professional background involves youth and community organizing on racial equity and other social justice issues. As a freelance contractor, she focuses on food justice by creating access to fresh, healthy, and affordable foods within urban and rural communities of Minnesota.
This visual and spoken word artist plays with textures, colors, and layers to create space for the person experiencing the art to build community. She wants the viewers to see themselves within her art and be willing to connect with their own story and to open-up, own and share their stories with others.
