Kiss The Tiger:
Kiss the Tiger is a female-fronted, five-piece rock ‘n’ roll outfit from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Drawing on influences from Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, Patti Smith, and Iggy Pop, Kiss the Tiger “does rock revivalism exceptionally well” (Michael Madden, City Pages). In February of 2017 they were the runner-up in Star Tribune’s ‘Are You Local?’ Best New Band competition. Since then they recorded their EP, “Elliot Park” and released it in November of 2017. Their music video for the song “Starting to See You” was named one of Minnesota’s best music videos of 2018 by The Current. 'Let Me Bleed' marks Kiss the Tiger's second full-length release.
They have played such historic venues as First Avenue, 7th Street Entry, Turf Club, and Varsity Theater alongside such acts as The Suburbs, Porcupine, Jackie Venson, and Terra Lightfoot. Nationally they have played New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Cruz, Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago, Louisville, and more.
“Almost instantly the entire crowd seemed to be captivated by singer Meghan Kreidler. I wasn’t able to take my eyes off the woman as she stalked the stage” (Langen Goldstien, Twin Cities Media).
“It was loud. It was fierce. And I was lovin’ it” (Kathleen Ambre, Music in Minnesota).
“Kiss the Tiger opened the show with more kick than my first vodka mixer, sounding huge” (Adrian Williams, The Local Current Blog)
The Smokes, Matt Slater (drums and vocals) and Himes Alexander (guitar and vocals) combine social commentary with garage rock, psych and soul in just the right ratio. Forming in 2014 in Spokane, WA and relocating to Minneapolis, MN in 2017, The Smokes, reminiscent of bands like the Sonics and the Minutemen, have developed their sound to incorporate a more realized songwriting style while maintaining their raw, rough-edge intensity.
