DJ Lisa Lisa Simpson aka Jared Maire is a first-generation, Indonesian, queer, feminist who exists in this doomed realm as a dj and graphic designer. Currently burnt out, their former existence was that of an organizer and curator with the Revoting Queers and DIY nightlife staple Madame of the Arts (RIP). Their influences range from the female fronted post-punk bands of the late 70’s and early 80’s, the queer history of disco and house, an immigrant mother, and their crippling borderline personality disorder. Jared misses the Downtown YMCA steam room and thinks Minneapolis needs a queer bar that serves Bahn mi asap.
