Set One: Nutria (New Orleans)
Set Two: Twin Talk (Chicago)

About Nutria:
Formed in New Orleans, LA in 2014, NUTRIA is an instrumental trio that performs original compositions with an emphasis on collective improvisation. Named after the infamous South Louisiana swamp rat, their music explores jazz, chamber music, and traditional music of the African diaspora and Eastern Europe, while staying true to New Orleans jazz and groove traditions.

"There's a clear strategic intelligence and inventiveness at work with this jazz trio... a range of musical influences showing a substantial depth of artistic resourcefulness..." - Kevin Lynch (No Depression magazine)

About Twin Talk:
Chicago band Twin Talk has been steadily gaining notoriety for their offbeat melodic approach to creative improvised music. Drummer Andrew Green, saxophonist Dustin Laurenzi, and bassist/vocalist Katie Ernst have focused their creative energies on exploring collaborative musical communication. Much like the phenomenon of cryptophasia ("twin speak") in identical twins, the band shares an ever-expanding musical language that is deeply personal and highly connected.

The three musicians have an affinity for melody and nuance, but the fabled Chicago tradition of improvised music has had its affect on the band. Chicago’s legacy of creative improvisers has had a profound influence on the band's defiant risk-taking and spontaneity.

"three musicians responding to one another in subtly nuanced ways, and in a music that's as lyrical as it is transparent." - Chicago Tribune
