Avalon Moon is a duo made up of Maya Weisinger and Mathias Hertel, two singer-songwriters based out of Minneapolis, MN. Though they don’t believe in labels, their genre can be best described as a meld of folk and r&b, with whispers of soul and hip hop. Their family of fellow Minneapolis musicians is what gives them drive and a good choice of excellent dinner companions. Maya and Matty met playing backup for a close mutual friend, but now they are spending their golden years centerstage and loving it. They are currently working on their first EP which will hopefully be released in late Fall 2016 if the weather turns in their favor. Maya enjoys watching Steven Universe and figuring out how to dress like an “adult." Matty likes kickboxing and doing vocal warmups very vigorously in his car. Together they write songs about love lost and love gained and all the love in between.
