Sarah Streitz is a Minneapolis musician/songwriter. Her 2015 recording debut, Take One, received local accolades and national airplay and established her in the Twin Cities music
scene. Unapologetically old school, her classic rock and country soul repertoire is rhythmically funky, lyrically astute and always memorable. Authentic yet familiar, Sarah’s voice is raw and understated like many of the songwriters from whom she takes cues. Tonight, she celebrates the release of Yesterday’s Child, a collection of up tempo country, swamp blues, Americana road songs and rock and roll and is joined by her producer/engineer Greg Schutte (drums/backing vocals), Blair Krivanek (guitar), Nick Salisbury (bass) and Ellen Christensen (backing vocals).
Music has been a passion of Ellen’s from a young age singing in choirs at the Basilica of St. Mary, performing in Prelude at MacPhail, making it to the featured round in MPR’s Minnesota Varsity competition and singing in two choirs at St. Olaf College where she graduated with a degree in vocal performance in 2016. Though classically trained, she most enjoys singing jazz and folk.
