Jacob Teichroew is a saxophonist and composer based in New York City. He has performed throughout the United States, Canada, The Netherlands, Italy, and Uruguay.

Teichroew, who has studied classical saxophone with Stephen Jordheim, jazz with Antonio Hart, and contemporary improvisation with Vijay Iyer, brings all three influences to his music. His compositions highlight the balance between control and freedom. Governed strictly by formal topography, they provide a landscape for untethered expression.

His debut album, Tableaux, was released in 2013 on Fresh Sound/New Talent Records. “Hot House Jazz” wrote: “Saxophonist and composer Jacob Teichroew is a rare example of a jazz musician who evokes the tone and lyrical precision of a musician much older than himself. Teichroew’s compositions juxtapose precisely crafted melodies and dynamic interplay within the ensemble…”.
