LASKA:

LASKA, (formerly The Morton Sisters) from Eau Claire, WI provide the perfect soundtrack for embracing the beauty in pain. Songwriting sisters Hannah, Becca and Mookie weave influences of Alternative,  Americana and Desert Rock with raw emotion in their songs. They are all confident vocalists knowing what each will bring to the table to sing lead, but also support one another with beautifully hard-hitting harmonies. Topping off the harmonic sheen is an instrumental arsenal including violin, guitar, banjo, mandolin and ukulele. Combine this with an un-apologetic rhythm section in tow and the whole of this band is far greater than the sum of its parts.  Their first EP, Neap Tide, was recorded live in a 13 hour session at Pine Hollow Audio. Drawing influence from Ingrid Michaelson, Regina Spektor and Ellie Goulding with an appreciation for classic rock, the Morton Sisters elude being defined by a single genre.

Brian Bethke:

Folk rock singer/songwriter, Brian Bethke brings a big sound with his lyrically strong and Americana fueled rock album, Ghost Songs. Brian has packed his latest album with the experience and stories of a songwriter who has toured the US, but has always found his way back to his home at the end of a rural Wisconsin road.

Brian has been playing guitar and writing songs since he was 13 years old and has released 7 albums of home recorded demos, toured the United States, shared the stage with Jesse Lang, Jordis Unga, The Gin Blossoms, Michael Gliabicki of Rusted Root, The Bodeans and many more. Brian has appeared on Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) programs such as Spectrum West and Big River Radio Waves. He’s also earned recognition for writing and licensing his song “The Silence” for the movie Rites of Ransom Pride, as well as scored the indie movie Grand Theft Matrimony.

“Real top-notch. The unmistakable sound of cool intelligence rings through with each haunting note,” said John Lennon’s former publicist Bruce Replogle of Brian’s collaboration with Peter Phippen.

Ghost Songs, Brian’s first official studio album, recorded at Pine Hollow Studio is set for world-wide release August 10, 2015.
