Andrew Jansen // LOUD SUN:

Andrew Jansen (born 1984, Madison, WI) is an American musician who has been self-releasing music since the year 2000. Blending genres such as rock, folk, psychedelic, punk and elements of electronic music he has played in numerous bands in the Upper Midwest and San Francisco Bay Area often in DIY spaces.
His most recent effort Loud Sun was written and self-recorded in Oakland, CA over a two-year period. The album "Loud" is largely comprised of melodic dream pop with some experimental, garage, and 60's influences.  It is set to be released on MJ MJ in early September.

The Awful Truth:

The Awful Truth is the moniker of Minneapolis based songwriter Brent Colbert- exploring duality and layered meanings through music and intuition.

2015 release "Lakewater" is a cassette of 7 surreal pop songs honing in on a new sound, spanning from melodic to experimental. Performed with Laurie Geving, Stephen Sokolouski, and Chris Madden, 'Lakewater' is full of cathartic tones and strings, creating brooding pop melodies no doubt inspired by the dramatic seasons in the Midwest.

2012 release ‘Birthright’ speaks the stories and moodscapes of years spent in Utah. It mimics the state’s landscapes and long sunsets, all through a steady narrative. Upon release Colbert set out on a nationwide tour, performing 54 North American shows (including a stop by the Daytrotter Studios) in the fall of 2012.

The Awful Truth has been direct support for Owen Pallet, Angel Olsen, the The Dodos.

"Band frontman Brent Colbert manages to empathetically craft hypnotizing songs within the conventions of folk without having to rewrite any rules." -SLUG Mag
