Jacob Hanson is an accomplished guitarist who has been seen and heard with a wide array of high-profile Minnesota artists, including Halloween Alaska, Mason Jennings, Solid Gold, Haley Bonar, The Pines, Actual Wolf, and a slew of side projects. In addition to dozens of studio recordings, he has toured both nationally and overseas. With a highly versatile style informed by blues, dub, ’50s pop and modern rock, Hanson is known for combining sturdy technique with a colorful palette of pedal-based effects to create inspired musical soundscapes.

As the mainstay bassist for The Pines, James has been touring internationally with the indie-folk group and appears on their Red House Records releases “Tremolo” and “Dark So Gold”. James also recorded bass with Minneapolis super-group, “Gayngs” on their “The Last Prom on Earth” album, and played their performance at First Avenue, along with Coachella Music Festival April 2011. James appears live and on recordings with Emmy Award-Winning, Universal Records Artists, The Blenders.
